I have recently been in contact with the OPW to find out when the Dodder footpaths will be reopened. The proposed completion date for the flood alleviation works on both sides of the river between Londonbridge and Newbridge is April 2010 and the footpath on both sides of the river should be opened up again to the public at the start of May 2010.
The works by Derrynane Gardens are substantially complete and will be fully finished be June of this year. The final ground level will be the same as the original ground level. The current temporary fence and dust barrier between the works and the residents will be removed on completion of the works.
The project staff have committed to ensuring that dust is kept at a minimum and to douse water on the haul road regularly. I am anxious to ensure that the OPW fulfil this promise so please contact me if you fell they have not being doing enough to minimise the inconvenience caused by the works
