Green Party

Vision for Dublin

The Green Party today launched its ‘Vision for Dublin’ and said rezoning in Dublin’s city and surrounds should be a thing of the past. The vision includes:

  • Doubling time for pedestrians to cross at traffic lights
  • 30km speed limits in residential areas
  • Trees on every residential street
  • Develop the South Docks and Poolbeg Peninsula as flagship eco-districts
  • More allotments and community gardens
  • New Luas lines from Poolbeg to Rathfarm and Tallaght to Saggart

The Greens in Government, Climate Change and the Recession

Now, with the country facing a devastating recession, Green Ministers are working in Cabinet to minimise adverse impacts on those lease able to take them. There is justified public outrage at the shocking level of mismanagement of the economy over the last decade.

My Green Vision

For me the Green Party is about improving Quality of Life by enabling an inclusive society, a sustainable economy and a a pleasant environment.

Many people in Dublin are excluded from enjoying, and participating fully in, the life of our great City. This can be because of poverty; the scourge of drug-related crime; anti-social behaviour; bad housing; transport and mobility difficulties; or atmospheric and noise pollution.

The range and standard of services provided by Dublin City Council are essential elements in improving the quality of life of all Dubliners.
